Guilherme Paulus is one of the Forbes billionaires in Brazil courtesy of the business operations of the company. Growth in the tourism sector has facilitated the growth of his businesses. He is the co-founder of a tour company known as CVC Brasil Operadora e Agencia de Viagens S.A. when he was establishing this business, Guilherme was aged 24 years. It is clear that from a young age, he was interested in business and that the entrepreneurial skills are in him are inborn. Not many people manage to run businesses successfully at such a young age. Guilherme Paulus managed to lead the company with great commitment. He was determined to make it as a young business person. He made sure that the tour company was running efficiently. Over the years, it gained the trust of tourist- both local an international. He grew it until it became the largest tour company in Latin America. The company was worth millions of dollars. In 2009, Guilherme got an opportunity to sell part of the company to a private equity firm from America known as Carlyle Group. The company bought 63.6 percent at the cost of 420 million. CVC is expected to go public this year with its Initial Public Offering (IPO) set to be announced soon.
Guilherme Paulus has gone ahead to invest in other companies. In 2005, he created GJP Hotels & Resorts. Currently, this is a company that controls 25 hotels and resorts in Brazil. This is just the beginning of what he plans to be the greatest investment in the hotels business. He plans to build more hotels around Brazilian airports. The country has seen more visitors coming into the country especially post the 2014 world cup tournament.
After the CVC deal, Guilherme Paulus was ranked among the Forbes billionaires from Brazil. He is currently estimated to be worth $1.9 billion. Before he joined the business field, he was working for IBM. He is now aged 66 and hopes to continue building his company further.
