Michael Burwell Adds A New Momentum To Willis Towers Watson

It was not long back, in August 2017, Willis Towers Watson, the leading financial advisory firm, declared that it would hire Michael Burwell as its new Chief Financial Officer. It was due to the then CFO, Roger Millay, decided to go for voluntary retirement on October 2, 2017. With almost five months after assuming the office, Burwell is reportedly making a new momentum in the overall performance of the leading advisory firm. Within a short span of time, he displayed his skills to manage, lead, and drive results in a highly complex and global firm with a clear focus on the clients of Willis Towers Watson.


It is identified that theexpertise of Burwell in finance, transformation, and transactions is greatly leveraged the long-term growth of the firm. Interestingly, his efforts to fulfill the integration efforts of the company started producing excellent results. The firm began its integration efforts to ensure full potential across its services in various demographics. Interestingly, Burwell was joining the company with almost 32 years of expertise in finance, capital market, and audit transactions. He has about 12 years of experience in transaction services advisory and more than 11 years of audit expertise.


Michael Burwell was all the years working with the prominent auditing firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. In the initial years of his career, Burwell served various roles inside the firm, and his journey to the leadership of the company began in 2001 when he was appointed as the Automotive and Transaction Services leader for the Midwest region of the United States. After four years, he was promoted as the Country Leader of Transaction Services Group. In March 2008, He was appointed as the Chief Financial Officer of PwC America. In October 2012, he moved to the global leadership of the company and appointed as the Global Transformation Leader. During the period,Michael Burwell took special initiative to optimize the business of the firm in different demographics. He closely monitored and worked with several of the internal departments of PwC including Global Strategic Sourcing, Finance, Technology, and Human Capital. Since July 2016, he began his life as a Senior Relationship Partner and took care of many clients of PwC. While coming to the education, Burwell completed his Business Administration degree from the prestigious Michigan State University. He also earned his Certified Public Accountant or CPA before kick-starting his career.
