OSI Food Solutions Continues To Be An Industry Leader

OSI Food Solutions has grown from a simple operation in Illinois to a complex, international business that is a leader in the food processing industry. Their position as one of the most successful businesses in their field, however, has not made them complacent. Just as they have constantly expanded in the past century, they are still looking to grow.

OSI Food Solutions is always expanding and improving its operations to meet their customer demands and needs. There have been two major recent developments within the company that demonstrate their perspective on the future of the industry.

In Spain, the company added a high-capacity production line in 2017. The 22,600-square-foot building is located in Toledo, and has doubled their production capacity of processed chicken products, increasing the annual production from 12,000 to 14,000 tons annually. The company invested €17 million in this project, and will also expand the area’s workforce from 140 to 160 employees.

The new production line is to meet the growing demand for chicken products in Spain and Portugal, which has consistently grown over the past decade, and is increasing more rapidly over the past few years. It will ensure that the company’s Spanish infrastructure is able to meet the future needs of the region’s market.

In the United States of America, the company is also expanding their operations. In Chicago, OSI Food Solutions bought a Tyson Foods plant that was in the process of shutting down. This $7.4 million purchase of the 200,000 square-foot facility happened in 2016. According to representatives from Tyson Foods, the sale was because the plant was limited in its ability to adapt to changes in the market. OSI Food Solutions, however, feels differently, viewing the plant as an opportunity to support continued domestic market growth, as well as improving their infrastructure’s ability to adapt to the ever-evolving needs of their consumer’s demands.

OSI Food Solutions is an international leader because of their ability to evolve with the market, and their recent acquisitions and expansions to meet the growing demand for their many products and services will ensure that the company remains a leader within the food processing industry.
